Nocturne · Thép Thavonsouk

I was inspired by James McNeil Whistler’s paintings at Tate Britain along with a wonderful collection of William Turner’s works. There grew the seeds for my own Nocturne collection. However, my Nocturnes are of ethereal feeling comprising of darkness and light, and sometimes flashes of radiance illuminating the sky. Some of these paintings are already in private and corporate collections throughout the world.

Nocturne: Saffron Robes

Nocturne: Festival of Light

As the Monsoon rains say good-bye, people celebrate the imminent arrival of the dry, cool season. During the Festival of Light thousands of paper lanterns are released into the dark night, creating a magical spectacle in the sky.
